Seth Byrd is a violinist, composer and educator living in Atlanta, GA. He fiddles in the traditional music duo The Broken Pledge. He attended the San Francisco Conservatory of Music where he studied composition with Elinor Armer. He studied violin with William Barbini. 

 

In 2018 Seth released "Other Songs of Travel," a recording of four works for solo violin. His arrangements have been played at Burning Man by the Playa Pops Orchestra. His work Stockholm has been performed by violinist Patrick Galvin. Seth recorded with Sacramento rapper Hobo Johnson on his debut album The Rise of Hobo Johnson. His second EP, "Pomegranates for Catherine," was released in August of 2025, and his first full-length album, "Uma Batida na Porta" with Brazilian folk guitarist Victor Mendes, was released in November. A second album, in collaboration with classical guitarist James Garber, is currently in post-production and will be released in 2026.
